MS Program Admissions Criteria
We take a holistic approach to admissions and encourage candidates from diverse academic and professional backgrounds to apply. Successful applicants typically demonstrate strength in the following areas:
Academic Preparation
- A strong academic record, typically reflected in a competitive GPA
- Foundational knowledge in economics or related fields
- Completion of required application materials and credentials
- Evidence of quantitative and analytical ability
- Preparation in mathematics and/or statistics through coursework or testing
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in rigorous, quantitative coursework
Communication Skills
- Proficiency in English consistent with institutional standards
- Clear, well-structured written communication
- Ability to articulate ideas effectively in written materials and, when applicable, interviews
Research & Analytical Experience
- Engagement with research, either through coursework or independent work
- Experience applying analytical thinking to academic or professional projects
- Opportunity to showcase research or project-based work, if available
Standardized Testing

Other Requirements
- Applicants must demonstrate a strong GPA, leadership, and excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience programming in SAS, Stata, or R is preferred but not required; extensive training in these statistical programs is offered.
International Students
- All international students who have not pursued a degree at an institution that teaches in English must submit TOEFL/IELTS scores.
- Transcripts not in English or not on a 4.0 scale must be translated by World Education Service (WES) or Education Credential Evaluators (ECE).
