2023 Data Science Summit

We were pleased to host the 2023 Data Science for Public Health Summit at the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Sherri Rose from Stanford gave The Data Science for Public Health Distinguished Lecture on January 12th. On January 13th, we had the opening Keynote address from Dr. Xihong Lin from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, followed by a day of in-depth discussions about the unique features of public health that demand tailoring of data science approaches. Participants examined the required infrastructure needs for public health research, the educational needs for MPH and PhD students and for the existing workforce, and the ethical issues surrounding the use of data science in population health.
