The Columbia SRP includes two biomedical and two geoscience projects that seek to address critically important issues that collectively aim to reduce As exposure and toxicity in exposed human populations in the U.S. and in Bangladesh, where much information can be learned that will benefit residents of the U.S. and elsewhere. They are:

Project 1. Health effects of arsenic longitudinal study (HEALS)

Project 2. Nutritional influences on blood arsenic, arsenic methylation and cognitive function in children

Project 3. Enhanced remediation at arsenic-contaminated sites in the US

Project 4. The resilience of low-arsenic aquifers and their role in reducing human exposure
