The Age Smart Employer Awards is the first awards program to recognize the importance of generational diversity in the NYC workforce and in particular, to highlight the positive significance of older workers. The awards program celebrates “age-smart” New York City employers, both for-profit and non-profit, who value and optimize the contributions of older adults. “Age-smart workplaces” are defined as "workplaces with practices that optimize the talents of older workers and create environments that capitalize on age-diverse workforces in order to grow and thrive.”
