Partners

GHJG is partnering with a range of state- and community-level organizations working in advocacy, service-delivery, health promotion, and other capacities across the sexual and reproductive health and justice fields in Maine, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. These partnerships will strengthen advocacy and research efforts through the integration of existing knowledge of policy changes, mitigating agents, and how socioeconomic factors impact the health of various populations that rely on Title X that are specific to each state as well as nationally ubiquitous.

MOUs with community-based leaders for health justice in the three states --The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness, The Health Equity Alliance, and SisterSong -- outline a collaborative process for designing and disseminating this research. We are also being advised by Maine Family Planning and Planned Parenthood Wisconsin as we examine the influence of Title X funding cuts for clinics across the states.

Specifically, the partners are guiding the research process by:

  • Informing project aims and objectives;
  • Identifying key informants to participate in in-depth interviews;
  • Advising us throughout the data collection process;
  • Drafting advocacy messaging through the interpretation and contextualization of quantitative and qualitative data synthesis;
  • Participating as co-authors in publications; and
  • Leveraging networks to disseminate findings

By applying an intersectional, partnership-centered framework to this research, we hope to accurately represent the impact of Title X in each of these states’ unique contexts and support a comprehensive advocacy agenda that meaningfully aligns with the goals of each of these partner groups.
