Our Issues and Impact

The Global Health Justice and Governance (GHJG) Program combines scientific, human rights, and policy expertise to promote justice and address the political determinants of adverse health outcomes across three domains: gender, environmental, and food justice. As researchers and practitioners based in a U.S. academic institution, we see our role as interrogating the ways law, policy, finance, governance and accountability frameworks originating in Global North countries and institutions promote or undermine justice in the U.S. and globally. Our research priorities are informed by our partnerships with activists and organizations led by and working with people from structurally excluded populations un the U.S. and Global South, and we seek to reflect and amplify their voices in our research and advocacy publications, convenings, and technical assistance.
