Faculty

1. Does either school offer any travel allowance for faculty teaching?
   Yes. Some allowance is offered in some instances.

2. How can I get in touch with faculty doing like-minded research at Columbia/EHESP?
   One way to start is with exploring this website and the schools’ respective websites as well. You can also email the office of the partnership at info@atlanticalliance.org

3. How would I make arrangements to take a sabbatical at Columbia/EHESP?
   Faculty members should first identify the faculty or units of interest. The Office of the Partnership can also help.

Students

1. How much does it cost for a student to take a course at Columbia or EHESP? 
   The tuition continues to be paid to the original degree-granting institution. The only costs to be covered by the student are cost of living, course materials, travel, etc.

2. Can the schools provide housing arrangements for my stay? What would my housing options be?
   The schools might assist in recommending housing options either associated with the schools or convenient to their respective campuses. However, there is no guarantee and housing is dependent on availability and other factors. Some periods are more favorable with regard to housing availability.

3. Do I need to be fluent in French to take a class at EHESP or do a practicum in France?
   No. EHESP’s MPH program is taught in English. However, French is always helpful outside the classrooms and EHESP offers French classes to enrolled students. A majority of practica experiences do not require French, and English is fine. However, some practica involving interviewing will require French language skills, which will be noted in the description.

4. Can I transfer credit back to my home institution?
   At this time, credit is not offered for the courses taken.
