Phase 3 (2022-2024)

Encouraging and Planning for National Level Uptake

To encourage and maintain momentum for measurement and uptake of the Priority Indicators for MHH, the core group worked with collaborators in the exemplar countries (Kenya, Bangladesh, the Philippines), and is engaging stakeholders in new countries, including Nepal, Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Indonesia. With UNICEF, uptake is being explored in Egypt, Jordan, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Pakistan. A sub-set of indicators was adapted for a new MHH module in the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey. The team developed a summary version of the Technical Guidance for National Monitoring, and two training decks (individual-level and school-level). These materials provide guidance for training of enumerators and adaptation of the indicators and measures to new contexts, assuring data quality.

This work was supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
