Environmental Epidemiology Connections

When and Where: Meets twice monthly on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 4-5pm in the EHS Conference Room 1102

Environmental Epidemiology Connections began as a journal club to bring together faculty, students and staff from the Departments of Epidemiology and Environmental Health Sciences to discuss common interests and review key new papers in the field of environmental life course epidemiology.  Other members of the group come from the Departments of Population and Family Health and Sociomedical Sciences, as well as from the entire medical center campus.  In part, this group is the centerpiece for the T32 training grants in Environmental Health Sciences and Environmental Life Course Epidemiology. The goal of the journal club is to analyze critical papers and have students practice for presentations at Mailman and at professional conferences. On average, between 25-30 people regularly attend these bimonthly meetings. We plan to expand this journal club to include additional Center members and then form a smaller “Environmental Epidemiology” working group among interested researchers, including both Center and non-Center members. The overall goal of working group1 would be to encourage collaborations among researchers and share ideas for new joint grant submissions.
