Application Deadline

SIBDS@Columbia will run again in Summer 2024 from Tuesday May 28th – Friday July 12th. The program will be asynchronous May 28th – May 31st, with a move-in date of June 2nd for the on-campus portion of the program.

Eligibility Requirements

Qualified applicants:

  • Must be enrolled and have completed at least two years as an undergraduate at an accredited school or university, or be attending community or junior college and enrolled in at least 3 courses per academic term over 2 years. 

  • Completed at least 2 semesters of calculus OR one semester of calculus and other advanced mathematics, statistics, and/or computing courses at the college level

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident 

Those interested in applying must:

  • Complete the online application by March 15th, 2024

  • Submit all college e-transcripts (unofficial transcripts accepted. Official transcripts must be submitted if admitted)

  • Provide two letters of reference (one of which must be from a recent college instructor, and at least one from a STEM-related field)

  • Provide a personal statement describing the reasons for applying to the program and tentative career goals (one page)

Following submission of a completed application, top candidates may be contacted by a member of the SIBDS admissions committee to arrange a phone interview.

Currently, summer 2024 is planned to be hybrid (first week asynchronous and proceeding weeks in-person).  However, we will closely monitor covid-19 cases leading up to the start of the program and assess whether the program will be in-person or remote.
