Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education
Just Launched: 2 Surveys to Assess the State of Climate and Health Education
We are excited to share that the 2026–27 global surveys on Climate Education in Medical Schools and Public Health Schools are now open.
Led by the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE) at Columbia University along with its global partners, this initiative aims to assess how climate and planetary health are being integrated into medical education worldwide.
The results contribute to the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change indicator on climate and health education. These data are essential for raising awareness among governments, ministries of health and education, accreditation bodies, and academic leaders about existing gaps and opportunities in climate and health education. They provide evidence that can inform national education policies, workforce development strategies, and investments to better prepare future health professionals for the health impacts of climate change.
The surveys take approximately 5–15 minutes, are available in 7+ languages, and are open through February 1, 2027. Responses are confidential and anonymized; no institution names will be reported.
