EPAC lab at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

We will be presenting our work on “Maternal Risk Factors and Mother-Child Play in Latino Immigrant Head Start Families” at AACAP this year. Our preliminary scheduled presentation is on Friday, October 26th. We hope to see you there!
Dr. Duch and Dr. Noble awarded IES grant for “Getting Ready for School”

Dr. Duch (EPAC Lab) and Dr. Noble (NEED lab) have received a 3 year, 1.5 million dollar grant to develop the Getting Ready for School (GRS) intervention. As part of this award, several new components will be added to the GRS intervention, including a focus on developing self-regulation, a set of classroom materials and the development of audiovisual materials to facilitate adult learning.
EPAC LAB at the Head Start Research Conference

The team will be presenting two posters at the upcoming Head Start Research Conference in Washington, DC on June 18-20. We will present our work on screen time use in young HIspanic toddlers and our evaluation of the Getting Ready for School intervention. We hope to have an opportunity to discuss with you in Washington.

Findings from our study of the “Getting Ready for School” intervention have been published in the Child Development Research Journal. The study highlights the importance of parent involvement in the development of key mathematics and literacy skills that prepare children for school entry.
