Our Executives in Residence Program, offered exclusively to our Executive Healthcare Management students, connects them to accomplished healthcare and public health leaders to enhance their professional development. Executives in Residence are available for coaching and mentorship, offering career direction, networking support, and industry and organizational knowledge.
Ricardo Rivera-Cardona is a healthcare management leader, entrepreneur, investor, and mentor with nearly two decades of distinguished experience in the healthcare industry. Ricardo served as the chairperson, CEO, and president of MMM Holdings, LLC, an Elevance Health subsidiary, until September 2025. Previously, he was the CEO of Refulgent Strategies (2017-2022), a healthcare consulting firm serving clients with revenues exceeding $12.5 billion and over 2.6 million beneficiaries across the USA. His leadership extended into the public sector, where Ricardo led Puerto Rico’s Medicaid Program as the executive director of the PR Health Insurance Administration (ASES). He has also held other Puerto Rico cabinet-level roles, including secretary of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce and executive director of the PR Trade and Export Company. Ricardo earned a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management from Cornell University, as well as a master’s degree in health administration from Columbia University. An Aspen Health Innovators Fellow and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, he received appointments from the Governor of New York to the NYS Health Insurance Administrative Simplification Workgroup (2020) and to the NYS Medicaid Managed Care Advisory Review Panel (2021).
Margaret Crotty is a seasoned leader of public health and education organizations, and currently the Chair of Northwell Health, New York’s largest health system. Most recently she served as president and CEO of JSI, a global non-governmental organization that works to improve quality, access, and equity within health systems in over 40 countries. In partnership with government, civil society, and the private sector—and in collaboration with communities—JSI manages large-scale public health, supply chain, and health information system projects. In the United States, JSI consults on pressing health system and public health issues. Margaret also chaired the Board of JSI’s Partnership for Supply Chain Management, which manages global procurement and logistics for health commodities, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment. Previously, she served as the CEO of Partnership with Children, a major provider of community health services and school-based mental health programs in New York; launched and led Save the Children’s flagship $2 billion child survival initiative; served as CEO of AFS-USA Intercultural Programs; and held roles at EF Education and McKinsey & Company in Jakarta, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Paris. She serves as a trustee of several health and education organizations, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and has received numerous health leadership honors. Margaret holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MPH from Columbia University, and a BA from Princeton University.
Anu Gupta is Senior Partner at Korn Ferry, the world’s largest executive search and coaching firm, and a member of the CEO and Board Services practice. Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Anu was a Senior Partner at IBM where he led the global strategy practice for healthcare and life sciences industries. Before IBM, Anu was part of the management team at a NASDAQ traded Health tech company. Other key roles have included: Managing Director and Partner at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he was a senior leader in the healthcare strategy practice and the Global Leader for Digital Health for BCG Digital Ventures (a BCG wholly owned Corporate Venture Capital Firm); Partner at Booz Allen Hamilton, and a Partner at Deloitte, also focusing his work on healthcare and Health tech.
Anu serves as a Board Member and Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee at the Food Bank for New York City. Other volunteer roles have included two terms as a Trustee for the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, mentorship at Blueprint Health, and The Women’s Mentoring Initiative sponsored by Senator Kristin Gillibrand.
He and his family support organizations and work in the areas of mental health, girls’ education, and food insecurity. He received a bachelor's degree (summa cum laude) and an MBA (with distinction) from NYU. Anu also earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Columbia University with a focus on health services and policy. Anu is a certified Integral Coach® (New Ventures West) and an ICF Certified coach. He completed his certification as a corporate board director with NACD. Anu is an amateur drummer and enjoys reading, traveling, and nature.
