Pharmacoepidemiology and Health Outcomes

Pharmacoepidemiology and Health Outcomes members collaborate with leading pharmaceutical companies to perform high-quality consulting and research in pharmacoepidemiology and health outcomes research. Our goal is to leverage the deep experience and medical knowledge of Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health and Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons to help pharmaceutical companies to better understand the effects of drugs in populations.
We provide (1) pharmacoepidemiology consulting focused on pharmacovigilance; (2) epidemiology consulting for other pharmaceutical divisions such as clinical trials; (3) rapid access to world-leading expertise in specific substantive medical specialties and subspecialties; (4) training and education in epidemiology and medical topics for pharmaceutical companies, including workshops and lecture series; and (5) a training pipeline for MPH and PhD students interested in careers in pharmacoepidemiology to do internships or otherwise to obtain experience at the pharmaceutical companies and become potential future recruits.
