Center for Public Health Implementation

The Center for Public Health Implementation (CPHI), part of the Department of Health Policy & Management (HPM), is dedicated to addressing complex challenges within public health through rigorous research, professional educational programs, and public engagement.  Our primary focus is on the nation’s 3300 state and local health departments, the challenges they face, the strategies they employ, and the lessons suggested.  We include the term “implementation” in our name because our priority is to examine what happens on the ground, on the path from policy to performance, and on how the public health system could be made to work better, both here in the United States and globally.
