A Gift in Your Will
A popular and enduring form of planned giving is a gift through your will, also known as a bequest. A bequest offers a meaningful way to leave a lasting legacy while allowing you to retain full use of your assets during your lifetime, with no immediate out-of-pocket cost.
In a new or existing will, you can designate a portion of your estate to Columbia Mailman. Your gift may take several forms, including:
- A specific asset
- A specific sum of money
- A percentage of your estate
- The remainder of your estate after providing for other beneficiaries
- You may also direct your gift to a particular program or priority, or make an unrestricted gift that can be used where it is needed most.
There are many other ways to make a planned gift, including retirement account beneficiary designations, charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, and qualified charitable distributions that satisfy required minimum distributions.
