The Skills for Health and Research Professionals (SHARP) Program consists of one to four-day, intensive trainings in omics, data science, environmental health, and professional development. Training instructors are experts in their field at institutions nationwide and internationally. Most trainings are offered from May-August, but select trainings have an additional offering during the academic year. Offerings change annually, so please sign up to our email list to stay up-to-date about our newest topics.

SHARP trainings are offered in-person, livestream virtual, or hybrid (in-person and livestream virtual option). In-person trainings take place in New York City unless otherwise noted. Each training is different and specific location details can be found on training pages. All trainings, regardless of location, are live and interactive with many opportunities to seek instructor support. These are not self-paced, pre-recorded courses.

All attendees who successfully complete a training have the opportunity to receive a certificate of completion by email after the training. Attendees are also encouraged to join our exclusive LinkedIn group to connect with attendees and instructors across the entire SHARP program.

Investigators from any institution and from all career stages are welcome to attend SHARP trainings. The specific audience for individual trainings may vary and are outlined on the training pages. We particularly encourage trainees and early-stage investigators to participate.

Mission Statement

The SHARP Program educates and empowers the current and future generations of public health leaders through 1 to 4-day trainings, providing participants with cutting-edge knowledge, methods, resources, skills, and tools to incorporate into their research. Led by renowned experts in their field, the program translates the latest trends in omics, data science, climate and environmental health, and professional development into trainings that equip investigators at all career-levels with the technical and analytical skills needed to elevate their transformative research.
