The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and the GHI hosted panel discussion with eminent microbiologist Peter Piot on his new book, recounting his work on Ebola, HIV, and other viruses. Drs. Linda Fried, Elaine Abrams, and Ron Bayer joined the discussion of Dr. Piot's book, No Time to Lose, A Life in Pursuit of Deadly Viruses.

Psychosocial Capacity Building In Response to Disaster: featuring speaker Joshua L. Miller from Smith College, School of Social Work. This seminar was presented by the Global Mental Health Program and co-sponsered by the Global Health Initiative.
Adapting a Family Based Mental Health and Prevention Program for South Africa to Support HIV-Infected Youth and their Families: This seminar was presented by the Global Mental Health Program and jointly sponsored with the Department of Psychiatry/NYSPI and the Global Health Intiative.
The aging of the HIV epidemic in Africa and implications on prevention, treatment and the health system response: Older people in Africa have long been neglected by governments and donors. This seminar will outline new work being conducted in this area and will discuss what it means for the HIV response.
