Overview

Kent Klindera has over 35 years’ experience in global health, working at the crossroads of health and human rights. Currently he serves as the (part time) Chief Philanthropy Officer for UHAI, the East African Sexual Health and Rights Initiative (EASHRI), an East African activist-led fund supporting grassroots LGBTQI+ and sex worker-led efforts. He also is an independent consultant focused on the sustainability of non-profits. Most recently, for over nine years, Kent served as a Senior Technical Advisor on Key Populations with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of HIV/AIDS—advising USAID’s country missions in implementing PEPFAR funded HIV prevention and treatment services, as well as championing human rights-based programming and policies. In the past, Kent has focused his work on gender and masculinity programming, and queer youth initiatives globally and in the United States; having lived in the US, South Africa and Thailand.
