Upcoming Events
Facebook Live with Daniel Giovenco, PhD
Wednesday, August 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. (Eastern)
To kickoff the 2018 #PublicHealthNow series, Torra Spillane, MPH'17, will interview Daniel Giovenco, PhD, Assistant Professor of Sociomedical Sciences, about vaping and its role in the tobacco epidemic. While cigarettes continue to be the leading cause of preventable death and disease in the United States, many public health professionals consider vaping to be a form of harm reduction that can significantly reduce the death toll from smoking, particularly among vulnerable populations. Others view vaping as a new public health threat that undermines the progress we have made to curb tobacco use.
