Fried, MD, MPH, Dean of the Mailman School of Public Health, “one of 2014’s most influential scientific minds.” Dean Fried was recognized for her work that is cutting edge in the field of social sciences and that “peers recognize as vital to the advancement of their science.”
The company analyzed data over the last 11 years to identify scientists who published the highest impact scholarly research most frequently acknowledged by peers. Highly cited papers ranked in the top 1% for their field and year of publication. Dr. Fried is a leader in the fields of epidemiology and geriatrics who has dedicated her career to the science of healthy aging. Internationally renowned, she has done seminal work in defining frailty as a medical condition. Dr. Fried is also the designer and co-founder of Experience Corps, a scientifically designed community-based program in 19 cities that puts senior volunteers to work in public schools. Dr. Fried is the recipient of numerous honors, including the national award as U.S. Woman Physician Scientist of the Year.
