2026 HPM Healthcare Conference: AI with a Soul

Renée Cummings will delivery the Keynote Address on April 17, 2026 at The Forum.

The 2026 HPM Healthcare Conference will focus on how we lead, responsibly and intentionally, in this moment of rapid innovation. As AI continues to reshape healthcare, we have a responsibility to be proactive, thoughtful, and grounded in public health values. This conference is about more than technology. It’s about how AI can advance healthcare while preserving equity, trust, and human-centered care.

This year’s Keynote Address will be given by Renée Cummings- an award-winning artificial intelligence (AI) innovator - AI, data, and tech ethicist, as well as the first data activist-in-residence at the University of Virginia’s (UVA) School of Data Science.

The Morning Panel will feature Divya Pathak, Deepesh Chandra, and Dr. Remle Newton-Dame, moderated by Professor Thalia Porteny.

A lunch reception will follow, featuring a poster showcase that highlights the work of current Columbia Public Health students.
