SHARP Training: Skills for Health And Research Professionals

COVID-19 Update: The summer 2020 SHARP Trainings will no longer take place in person to prioritize the safety and health of our attendees, instructors, and community. Where possible, we have transitioned trainings to be offered live-stream online for this summer to allow our scientific community to continue learning and developing professionally together. We are working hard on integrating these hands-on skills to an interactive online format. With this transition to remote learning, registration fees have been decreased to pass any and all saved costs onto attendees, and we've extended scholarship and early-bird deadlines to adjust for all the covid-19 transitions. Details are outlined below, as well as on each training-specific page.

The SHARP (Skills for Health And Research Professionals) Training Program at Columbia University offers short, intensive boot camps and workshops led by field experts to teach in-demand skills on the hottest topics in research and education. Here is the official flyer with all 2020 topics to share with colleagues.

Locations

COVID-19 Update: For summer 2020, the SHARP Trainings will no longer take place in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each training will instead be a live-stream, remote training that takes place over live, online video on specific dates and times. Please note this training is not a self-paced, pre-recorded online training.

The SHARP Program offers trainings and workshops on both the east coast and west coast. New York City, home to Columbia University, is a vibrant city with endless opportunities to explore worldclass theater, art, and restaurants. Portland, Oregon, the newest location for SHARP trainings, offers an incredible variety of music, a thriving food scene, and outdoor adventures for all levels, particularly in summer when the sunny temperate weather can't be beat.
