The Science of Health

What is health?

The Science of Health (SOH) program brings together a transdisciplinary team of scientists to generate, validate, and apply new measurements of health.

We are developing a scientific framework to resolve how health emerges from the complex biological interactions at multiple organizational scales in our bodies, and how our environment, psychobiological processes, culture and context shape each person’s ability to reach and sustain their full potential across the lifespan.

Our SOH approach builds from first principles, integrating dynamic processes related to energy, communication, and structure. We define how the resulting Intrinsic Health manifestas Realized Health through the lens of an individual’s context.

Our Program

Our program integrates faculty across disciplines to further both the theoretical and practical gaps in knowledge.
