This session will introduce students and alumni to the different public health careers opportunities community health centers (CHCs) offer as an employer of choice. CHCs provide high-quality primary care services to over 2.4 million New Yorkers and serve as health safety nets to the communities they serve. Attendees will learn the following: Explore the different New York State CHCs and their impact on community health Explore different career pathways within CHCs Federal and state scholarship and loan repayment programs for eligible candidates working in community health care This event is open to Columbia Mailman students and alumni. Center for Public Health Systems presents: Critical Issues in Public Health Law Spring 2026 Colloquium   "Federal Funding, Reproductive and Gender-Affirming Care in New York and Beyond: How State Attorneys General Impact Public Health Law"   Galen Sherwin (Special Counsel for Reproductive Justice, NY Office of the Attorney General) and Rabia Muqaddam (Chief Counsel for Federal Initiatives, NY Office of the Attorney General)  in conversation with Magda Schaler-Haynes (Professor of Health Policy & Management, Columbia Mailman School of Public Health). Join us for a timely exploration of public health leadership by state attorneys general. Our discussion will highlight the groundbreaking work of the Office of the New York Attorney General, including state-based efforts to secure essential federal funding and protect access to reproductive and gender-affirming care in New York and beyond. Conversation from 4-5pm, followed by a reception in Riverview Lounge. Registration required.

Learn about the key elements of a resume, how to design a readable and attractive resume document, which keywords to use, how to quantify your achievements, and ultimately, how to improve your odds ratio for landing interviews.
