Executive MHA

The Executive Masters of Healthcare Management programs (MHA and MPH) provide working healthcare professionals with the skills, networks, and credentials they need to obtain high-level management or policy positions. The program attracts professionals from hospitals, health departments, managed care organizations, consulting firms, law firms, pharmaceutical companies, and other healthcare settings with seven or more years of relevant experience. Students have the option of choosing an MHA or an MPH degree after enrollment.

Students attend classes for one long weekend (Thursday to Sunday) each month for a period of 24 months. The curriculum provides an overview of the political, legal, and economic forces that shape healthcare systems, an introduction to the core principles of public health, and a hands-on immersion into the principles and the practices of effective management.

The faculty includes full-time professors from the Mailman School of Public Health along with senior practitioners who are adept at relating classroom theory to the realities of the workplace. In addition, the program provides career planning to assist students in their efforts to change jobs or advance within their current organizations.
