Africa Hub

The GCCHE Africa Regional Hub's vision is for all health professionals and students in the African region – doctors, nurses, midwives, public health practitioners, mental health practitioners, environmental health specialists, and allied health specialists – to collaborate to prevent, mitigate, and respond to the climate change’s health effects.

Hub Goals:

  1. Create training opportunities for health professionals

  2. Advocate for the inclusion of climate change education in the curriculum of health students and professionals

  3. Host monthly webinars on topics relevant to the region

  4. Host conferences on topical issues relating to climate change in the region

  5. Identify research gaps and opportunities, form collaborations, and execute research activities

  6. Bridge networks across the continent

  7. Prepare, collect and share learning resources

Membership:

Health students and professionals in the African region – doctors, nurses, midwives, public health practitioners, mental health practitioners, environmental health specialists, and allied health specialists. All are welcome!

What is the role of members? 

  • Members are expected to participate as able in  monthly webinars and other events/activities organized by the hub

  • Members are expected to actively contribute to discussions on the platform

  • To amplify the activities of the hub and its members on social media

  • Help in recruiting new members 

  • Add the voices and signatures to policy calls made by the hub

  • Act as worthy ambassadors 

  • Serve as information agents by sharing news and updates about climate change-related issues or activities at local, national an continental level
