This two-day course, organized by the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, brings together an exciting lineup of world-class scientific experts and leaders to explore a stunning range of issues related to COVID-19 through a blend of lectures, virtual labs, and discussion. Day 1 addresses molecular and genetic dimensions of coronaviruses, detection and diagnostics, immunological considerations, pathogens responsible for respiratory illnesses, and an analysis of the vulnerabilities of our public health system. Virtual labs focus on molecular diagnostics and detection and serological tests. Day 2 focuses on the epidemiology of COVID-19, community and workplace testing, clinical management and treatment of the illness, vulnerable populations, community engagement, and epidemic modeling in New York City, the United States, and across the globe. A virtual lab dives into coding and technical considerations of models.

All career stages from any organization are welcome to attend.

There are no prerequisites to attend this training. Participants will need access to a computer to join the live-stream, remote training.
