Overview

Peter Taback is a communications professional who has worked to build understanding of global health and health disparities at some of the sector's most effective organizations. He serves as Chief Engagement and External Affairs Officer at YAI, where his experience in health communications and marketing helps raise awareness and clear up misconceptions—about the range of services for people living with disabilities. Dr. Taback previously served the Mailman School as Chief Communications Officer, working with faculty, students, and the School's senior leadership to raise the profile of public health and the Mailman School's unique contributions. At Columbia, Dr. Taback leads media trainings and communications workshops and routinely partners with the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion to increase the visibility of public health scholarship in the national conversation. Previously he worked at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, and served as Vice President of Communications and External Affairs at The New School.
