Mailman's Office of Student Affairs provides programming for the academic, social, cultural, and professional development of students across disciplines, including, but not limited to:

Student Life Expo

In the beginning of the fall semester, meet OSA, Adminstrative Offices, and all of our student organizations to hear more about their missions, programs, and services.

Welcome Events

During the month of September, kick off the academic year with your new and returning cohort members through various exciting events hosted by OSA and students organizations both on-campus and across New York City. Examples from the past include:

  • Tours of various neighborhoods

  • Nature hikes

  • Socials

  • Visits to NYC attractions

  • Boat cruise

Alumni Networking

Join the Offices of Student Affairs, Alumni Affairs, and Career Services alongside the Graduate Student Association in enhancing your professional and academic network. Examples from the past include:

  • Lunch and Learn

Community Health and Outreach Fair

Meet leaders of local community-based organizations (CBOs) and learn about ways to volunteer your time towards their important missions.

Wellness Week

Join OSA in organized stress-relieving activities during midterms and finals weeks. Examples from the past include:

  • Massages

  • Pet Therapy

  • Yoga, Pilates, and Zumba Classes

  • Walk for Wellness

  • Art Therapy


Keep your eye out throughout the year for advertised OSA-sponsored opportunities to attend sporting events, Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and more throughout the city at a discounted price. Examples from the past include:

Service Day

At the beginning of the Spring semester, volunteer with a local community-based organization and see public health in action! Service opportunity examples from the past include:

  • JFK High School Community Garden

  • Food Bank: Shop and Stock

Public Health Week

During the first full week of April, OSA celebrates National Public Health Week through a series of events and activities in collaboration with student organizations and faculty members throughout the Mailman School community. Examples from the past include:

  • Water Wednesday

  • Mobile Wellness with the Center for Student Wellness
