He is responsible for processing HR paperwork for new hires and rehires (officers of administration, support staff, and short-term casuals), submitting Personnel Action Forms (PAFs), scheduling doctoral students’ dissertation defenses and exams, and collaborating with other members of the administrative team to ensure efficient operation of the office.

 What attracted you to SMS?

I was first intrigued by the mission of the department, which is to improve population health by addressing and analyzing the social, political, historical, cultural, psychological, and economic forces that influence health outcomes. As a former healthcare professional with a passion for immigrant communities in New York City, I was excited by the prospect of providing support to this department by promoting efficient, first-rate, day-to-day administrative engagement. To do so in a research setting in New York City is deeply fulfilling.

What are your interests/activities outside of work?

I really enjoy playing soccer and teaching children and teenagers how to play the game at a high level in order to cultivate self-discipline. My favorite team is Chelsea F.C. and I seldom shy away from a soccer debate. I am also a music enthusiast. I rehearse with my band for church and various events at least once per week.

Favorite New York Activity?

I thoroughly enjoy spending time in the park with my family. We are often found having fun and doing various photo-shoots in some of New York City’s best parks. A hidden gem I would recommend is Untermeyer Park & Garden. It has beautiful gardens and amazing views overlooking the Hudson River.
