The Imprints Center brings together investigators working with information resources gathered across generations of populations in different regions and environments. Our researchers are engaged in key studies that examine a wide array of environmental and genetic exposures at various points in development, and also consider a range of health and disease outcomes. The Imprints Center provides a unique setting for intellectual exchange, for supporting methodologic strategies and for identifying new research opportunities, as well as for training interested colleagues and students.

The Center's founding director is Dr. Ezra Susser, Professor of Epidemiology and Psychiatry, Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.  Dr. Susser has played an integral role in the revitalization of studies of adult health in birth cohorts around the globe, including the United States, the Netherlands, China, and Israel. His research in these cohorts has led to groundbreaking findings regarding nutritional and infectious exposures in gestation, and schizophrenia in adulthood.
