Get Involved

The Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion aims to create a platform for the larger Columbia University community to drive fundamental discoveries in health promotion and communication, and facilitate the translation of these discoveries into policy and practice around the world. By addressing health inequalities through communication science, knowledge translation, community engagement, advocacy, and training, the Center fosters interdisciplinary collaborations among public health professionals.

Thank You to Our Partners

Share Your Expertise

The Center is committed to integrating expertise from across sectors and disciplines. As such, we are always looking for opportunities to collaborate with academics, organizations, and companies who specialize in business, journalism, technology, and other fields. Please contact us if you have an opportunity or idea that you would like to share.

Host a Summer Student Intern

Every year, the Center hosts a class of MPH graduate students who specialize in health promotion research and practice. As part of their public health professional degree program, all students must complete a planned, supervised, and evaluated practice experience equivalent to one full-term semester.  For health promotion students, this is equivalent to 8 weeks.  The practicum provides an opportunity to apply classroom concepts and methods of social science and public health to actual public health problems. If your organization is interested in hosting a summer student intern, please contact us.

Adopt a Monday Campaign

The Monday Campaigns provides ready-to-scale programs free of cost to organizations who want to incorporate the Monday concept into their health promotion programs. Current campaigns include: I Love NY Water, Healthy Monday, Kids Cook Monday, Caregiver Monday, Move-it Monday, Monday Mile, Man-Up Monday (Woman-Up Monday), and more.  Please contact us if you are interested in any of these campaigns.
